It depends on the resolving power of your system. Rectifiers can make significant improvements. I've rolled a few 5AR4's, OEM from China and Russia, Sylvania fat bottle and Mullards. There's a bit of a difference in Mullards, if you can find them from the 1960's they are often better than 1970's production. Best to buy tested examples with good section balance.
In all cases the Mullards sounded best in my system and were well worth it.
