EH300B Gold and JJ EL84 for a low cost/super quiet option. That's my everyday pairing now. I've tried NOS EL84s (cause I happen to have them) but put them away for another project. I've went thru Psvane, Genalex, JJ, and reqular EH 300B's to get to my Gold and JJ current tubes.
Just try to get some low microphonic 300B's and invest in some beaker weights.
