You're right. The really odd tube are his RCA and Raytheon "gold pin" tubes. Haha.
Make an electro-plating bath 1/4" deep? set tubes in and plate w/ gold-ish plating? Like Radio Shack did with almost every "Lifetime" tube they sold in the 70s?
