Don't know if this will be of any value, but I have a quad of Tung Sol EL34B and do not like the way they sound in my Dynaco Stereo 70. Of course, they might sound different in another amp, but in my Stereo 70 they are too laid back, the top end is too recessed, and they don't image well - sounds too localized within the speakers. One distinguishing feature of the TS EL34B is the strong bass, which others have commented on.
Perhaps if you want a brighter, more open and energetic sound, go with the Electro Harmonix. The Tung Sols will be darker and more laid back, I suspect. Of course, YMMV.
