I bought a quad of late 70s vintage DRs to install in the regulator/PS supply of my ARC Ref 40 preamp. If they were better, I was prepared to buy 8 more for the line section. They did sound different than the current Sovteck version, but not necessarily better so I sold them. Some people like them, some don't, others don't feel they're worth the cost.
