Most 300B SET amps are zero feedback, so the differences between tubes is quite audible. The VTL tiny triode amps undoubtedly use a bit of feedback to improve performance.

Still, you can afford a LOT of 12AT7 tubes and related variants for the cost of one pair of 300Bs.

The one bone I have to pick is that these amps have 30 freaking dB of gain, which is at least 10dB too much.
