I see no reason to give in so easily. You can radically change the sound of your amp in any number of ways including reducing glare and increasing warmth. There are lots of other ways to warm up your system extraneous from your amp and your amps tubes also. Below is a discussion of the subject in relation to the 6922 of which you only need one. Of course you can get a warmer sound from warmer sounding tubes. A zero brainer. Zero to six significant figures.
