RE: 6SN7 to 6922 or 12AT7 adaptor

It's very, very unlikely to work properly. Your preamp is designed to use 6SN7s, stick to those. The 12AT7 has significantly higher gain (a bad thing for a tube preamp) and is likely to not operate well in a circuit designed for a 6SN7.

You're probably fine using the adapter to run a 12AU7 in that preamp, and a different adapter will allow you to use a 6CG7 as well. Both of these tubes are very close in operation to a 6SN7.
