Yes chips
this is the point .
Just to make an example :i have several el34 sed =c= quuartets
that i could use ;now they are expensive and seem to be the
latest big thing among "new" production el34's.
They are now considered Nos and very sought after.
I prefer to use Genalex kt77 or Mullard el34 reissue :i found them
more "overall" satisfyng and complete than the now"nos"old svetlaana
from St.Petersburgh;i am not saying that they are bad ,no,i 'm just
saying that sometimes they lack in punch and somewhat "slubby"on
bass;winged c are marvellous on acoustic jazz and guitar ,voices
but sometimes soft on other kind of music .
If you only listen acoustic or baroque music ,you''l may find them
perfect .
I am a 360° music guy and i don 't want to listen to tubes ,i want to
listen to music .
So i find nos mullard xf2 lacking in some departs so they do old
Sylvania 6ca7;don't take me wrong:they are marvellous tubes ,but
they don't hold on with all the music aound in 2017.
I think "now"tubes are more complete in this respect.
This is my experience (my last listening :the complete Beethoven
sonata dy Andreas Schiff, but now i am listening to the last album
by Sam Amidon)
