RE: 12au7 / 5814 tubes for preamp audition

Thanks for the recommendations. I now have a pair of the mil spec RT's
on the way - 1959 production. I think these will be just the ticket,
not as cold and analytical as the German tubes and probably more neutral
than the British tubes. I want this comparison to be on a level playing
field as much as possible. IMHO the RCA's and the RT's will really give
me an accurate idea of what the Rhumba sounds like without going
overboard on NOS tubes for a preamp that I'm not sure I'm going to buy.
