Per Brent Jessee (AudioTube.com) CCA's were made mostly in Germany and some in Holland and most likely none in the USA. He also mentioned CCA's were "made specifically for the German government and military, all that I have seen carry a German brand label, even those made in Holland." Assuming Brent is correct, wouldn't all real CCA's have Philip's etched codes, which would serve to verify tube type and manufacture location?Given Brent's description it is likely any Sylvania labeled CCA that indicates it is USA made likely is not a real CCA unless it has etched codes indicating such tubes were made in Germany/Holland. That unlikely circumstance would indicate Sylvania OEM'ed but did not make the tube.
Per National tubes branded CCA, over time such tubes might have been made by different manufacturers vs. solely coming from one source. Still it would seem whether or not proper etched codes are there or not would verify whether such tubes are real CCA's or not.
If the tubes you are interested in are not real CCA's then they likely will perform/sound quite different from real CCA's.
