I don't know what your budget is but the perennial favorite 6922s are expensive. If you get good sound with 6DJ8s you will have broader options for the money ?
Are these the JAN Sylvania 6922s? If so I concur they didn't sound good anytime I tried them. I rolled them with other 6922s including different Amperex types which all sounded good to great. I don't have much experience with 6DJ8S.
