Pardon my rant here... but hasn't everybody figured out yet that the tube is only PART of the amp? And that different tubes perform differently in different circuits? The Icon Audio unit the original poster uses them in is a low or no NFB SE monoblock amp - of COURSE it will sound different than amps that use more NFB and are push-pull.

And what about all the other variables? The room, the speakers, the source components, the source material - and the listeners ears/preferences... they ALL affect these arbitrary judgments.

I mean no offense to anyone reading this. But we go through this same discussion here over and over and over ad nauseum...
