I was considering either a Conrad Johnson Classic 60 (either SE or non SE????) to match up with my Conrad Johnson Classic 2SE preamp that I already have and do like.Or going with the new MC275.
I also need to make this very clear. I always wanted a "Good Looking" stereo system. All my life I've had pieces and parts stereos. I finally have the ability to have both a NICE looking and GOOD sounding stereo.
This is very important. I already have a VTA ST-70 that IMHO is just great. I can't see going up the food chain much if any here. Sorry I know that sounds like an ignorant thing to say but that's what I'm feeling. In short I would be buying another "new" amp sound that for all intent and purpose, I already have. It's all coming down to looks or just trying to blow some cash.
If that's the case then I did consider just going in the direction of getting another preamp and not amp. Not that I don't like the CJ because I do.
I have the CJ/VTA for a more modern cleaner sound and the Sherwood for that wonderful warm sound. So what am I missing here??
I had to compromise when I got my CJ Classic 2Se. the model without remote control. So maybe I'll get the remote control model or McIntosh C22 reissue and a Rythmic subwoofer that I need and start to finish up my existing setup.
