I went and hooked up there VTA ST-70 and tried the RCA 5963 tube. I quickly removed it and put it back in the Heathkit Oscilloscope were it belongs.
It had a terribly muted or muffled top end. Very dead sounding.
Put the GE 12AU7 back and it's back in business.
