Yeah, those two tubes are priced on rarity. Your pre may have been voiced with them and that is why they sound so good to *you*.

Not 12AT7's but to illustrate a point, I had a Softone Model 4 phono pre that was voiced with Sovtek 12AX7 LPS. I rolled tubes in it but the LPS was not outdone.
