Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |

I just found out that TC Tubes in St. Paul, MN has ~200 of these magical KT-90's that they just acquired in a single purchase lot, apparently from an equipment manufacturer that had them on hand (use to employ them in their wares, but not any longer). I was approached by TC Tubes because they know I run them in my EAR 890 amp, as I had them test a bunch for me on their Amplitrex AT1000 set up. Please note that I have no affiliation with TC Tubes other than being a very satisfied customer for some tubes and some tube testing services.
As you can expect, the Type II's are not cheap, but I am confident that you can count on accurate testing and matching from Tyler and Chelsea (they test at voltages that replicate real operating conditions, and I believe can customize the testing based upon the particular amp they will go into). And in my experience these tubes are lasting a long time (even in my class A running amp). I already have 40+ tubes in my personal stash, or I would have snapped up some of these myself before tipping others off!
