Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |

I had'nt tried using my Senn HD800 w'/' this amp which had been dead silent w/ my HFM HE-6. The faint hum became "seriously" faint when I switch the gain to low. Any low level
musical information makes it extremely difficult to hear this noise.
I think I'm bothered by it because up to this point I thought I had a "Subterrainean" noise floor
& to be honest I just bothered by the fact I'm searching for that trace of noise.
I'm using 2 NOVIB socket savers on my Siemens E84L tubes but none on my Brimar CV4034 , could that tube be where the low pitched "speck" of hum (& at this point I'm not
even sure where this noise is originating from) be the culprit ?

- Heh, heh,heh....Actually,I put the socket savers back on to see if they would "erase" the noise - Old SteveA 13:10:13 09/30/14 (0)
