RE: TubeAcolyte ---- 400PS

Hate to bust your bubble, but a lot of the Ampeg 8x10s were 8 ohms.

How would one wire eight 32-ohm speakers to end up with 4-ohms?

Doesn't really matter, because anyone that has actually played out has never combined the 3 cabinets you reference, much less described one as the "w-bin". Not that you don't really know what you're talking about, but unless you were playing a stadium in the 1960s you'd never do that, much less have to schlep all that hardware to a gig. Plus the "w-bin" didn't come out until 1974 or so...

That's why modern amps have DIs. And why modern bands use IEMs if the stage is big enough.

I'd like to see your band's rider for your fantasy rig. Does that include side-fills? Or do you just thumpy-bumpy everyone and forego monitors and make the promoter provide a box of earplugs for the rest of the band? What do you do to keep the FOH guy from quitting out of frustration?

Entwistle used 4 x 15 Sunn cabinets, not 2 x 15s.

Lots of people used and continue to use SVTs with 8 x 10s.

Jaco Pastorius used a "w-bin", maybe sorta, but look what happened to him...
