I really like the Genelex gray glass KT66s and tonight I had a milky one that I cracked open and they are gray plates even tho they are gray glass. The only vintage Genelex tubes I like are the KT66s..I have several near NOS and several NOS/NIB GEN/GEC KT88s and they can't touch my second generation KT90s or the TS 6550 black plates or three holers for that matter.
The reissue KT66s are none too shabby and once broken in give a run to my Genelex clear glass KT66s.I have one quad of c;ear glass GECs.
I cannot understand why the vintage GEN/GEC KT88s sound so dead in the water as compared to even the reissue Gen KT88s.
