I've looked at that thread and the only person I've seen mention the 6V6GT is astroimage2002. Kevin Deal who sells them, posts on this thread, and mentioned the other tubes, but not the 6V6GT.From what I know about amp design (not that much, I've only done a couple from scratch). It would seem likely that keeping the bias voltage the same for a 6V6, as the other tubes, without reducing the B+ voltage, would result in the 6V6 running beyond it's rated wattage.
If you have a catastrophic tube failure, you could damage your amp. Not saying for sure that would happen, but a note of caution is in order. You could be running the tube 50% or more above its max rating. The only way to be sure is to measure watts of dissipation, which would require a meter, and some simple calculations.
