The WE tubes were priced like they were NOS. As such they were at the top of the market when there were many other replicas that sounded great and were available at a much lower cost.

Combine that with the costs of setting up production in the US....with a US cost of labor and the cost of US industrial and EPA regulations.

Contrast that with a manufacturer in Eastern Europe or Far East who can pay pennies an hour in wages and never has to worry about environmental regulations.

Too bad really.
