Which Tesla the new production JJ or the NOS Tesla? I am assuming you mean the JJ. It is a competent tube but does not display the character that many other 12AX7s do. Among the current production tubes I like the Tung Sol "re-issue", it is full rich and well balanced, I found the JJ to be somewhat leaner overall.
