You summed it up very well. Best description of the rewiring I've seen. Maybe stupid question but why do I need to ground pin 9? From what I see in the RCA tube manual, 6cg7 pin 9 is not connected at all. If I anyway move the filament connection to pin 5 (or 4) then pin 9 shouldn't be part of any circuit?
This should be easy.
1) Check PS specs
2) if bridge exist between pin 4 and 5 then the 12au7 is run on 6,3 eV
3) remove bridge
4) move the wire connected to pin 9 to the non-connected pin of 6 and 4
5) ground pin 9?
