With regard to your comment on the GL KT-88s I highly recommend you pursue them. They are really great tubes I am sure they will make your system sound better.
The other tube to find (I think TVR has them available) is the 12AU7 sub the Amperex 7316 absolutely the most crystalline, airiest, halographic tube I found. That is not to say thay the 5814 isn't good. It has been a clean sounding fully extended tube in my systems.
