But I would highly suggest you give some RCA blackplates a run first. I thought the RT was great, but the RCA's get overlooked and they are the best tubes I have tried (have used RT, Mullard, and a slew of others). My opinion, my amp, etc..., etc... Maybe they won't brighten your pre up enough, I thought they were just very well balanced.

Haven't heard a 6x4 I disliked though.
