RE: Trying to find decent speaker terminal blocks to replace existing on old tube amp

There is nothing off the shelf that is a "bolt-on" replacement.

Keep in mind a couple things on the Citation V:

1. The 16 Ohm terminal is a common tie point for NFB wiring, etc. So if you don't use a 16 Ohm terminal you will have to provide a point where all the connections to the old 16 Ohm terminal can be installed - not easy on that back panel.

2. The advice I gave you when you emailed me did not include solutions that involved cutting into the chassis. If you want to cut the chassis you can do almost anything. But I won't be involved in anything that involves chassis cutting.

3. A fresh set of stock terminals works VERY well with most spade connectors. You can get spades that will accept large speaker cables that fit well on the stock type terminal boards. Or you can get adapters that replace the screws and allow you to use bananas.

4. Don Sachs (who posts here - dls123) fits three binding posts to Citation II amps - I'm not sure if he's done it to any Cit Vs. Maybe he'll weigh in if he has any suggestions.

5. I install a set of dual posts and a tie lug strip (inside) for the 16 Ohm connections. The common dual post setup can be installed in the existing opening, no cutting is required. By installing ring terminals on the OPT secondary leads you can easily connect them to the posts - one for ground of course, and one "hot". If you need to change impedance then you have to remove whichever lead is connected to the post and replace it with the other (i.e. replace the 4 Ohm with the 8 Ohm, etc.). But while you have to go in the amp to do it, once in it's easy to do with the ring terminals.

Finally, with a Cit V unless you already have super heavy cables that you want to use, I find no need to use them. Tube amps just don't deliver the current that monster SS amps do. I don't want to start a cable fight here - but FWIW, in my own system I use the original DH Labs T-14. They work wonderfully with any Citation amp. I've tried various "fire hose" size cables that people brought over to audition. I'll pass, thank you.
