Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
I had asked Mike Samra, tube guru and contributor to this forum, for his recommendations on a substitute for an EL34 tube.He suggested I try a 6P3S-E
Russian tube. Why not,at $19.80 a pair including shipping from the former Soviet Union what is there to lose.
The difference was emotionally immediate, particularly in bass depth and articulation. In my opinion they out performed the Svetlana EL 34 winged "C" and a pair of EL 34 Mullard reissues I had recently acquired.
Thanx Mike.
