As far impervious to overload I think they meant when used in an amp designed for a standard 6550/KT88. As far as a Russian equivalent I think this is a new design....if it needs to be put in a family group it seems like a larger EL156.
I have few questions about this tube....like does it have the same heater requirements of 6550/KT88? What can the screens handle? etc...
