The extra heat from sunlight should be minimal, compared to heat that is self generated, so I wouldn't really worry.
I have seen some preamps with gas regulator tubes, where the gas regulator tubes sometimes don't fully light up for some time. The instant one shines bright light on the partially lit tube, they become fully lit. I don't know why that happens, but, light can stimulate such tubes.
