Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ

Do you realize you quoted MY post about Richardson???

LOL! You quoted my OWN post about Richardson's history back to me in trying to "educate" me - I have to admit I found that pretty funny.

YES, I know National was a rebrander! The point I was trying to make, apparently not well, is that they DO have some tubes from then they were rebranding USA tubes, and they have some Cetrons. You have to look at the list CAREFULLY, and work a little with the person you talk to on the phone, to get what you want. Richardson sells current Russian tubes, but those have different part numbers from the NOS tubes. Supply of the USA/NOS tubes is very limited - I thought I had also scored some 5751's, which they showed as in stock, but proved not to be.

After looking very closely - the 6DJ8's are 100% identical to my late '70's JAN-Sylvanias. The 12AU7 are 100% identical to my 80's JAN-Phillips. These are for sure USA-made tubes - I'm not claiming they are the BEST tubes ever made in the world, but they are what they are.

Sadly, the 12AX7's I got ARE in fact clearly labeled made in China.

Anyway, I thought it was fun. Don't knock it unless you try it.

Over and out.

Rob
