If you like the sound of someone blowing their nose in the background, then keep the Sovtek 6922 tube. I am sure it works well in guitar amps, where a certain amount of distortion is always welcome.
I agree with all posts here regarding the current production JJ Tesla 6922. As a matter of fact, its low microphonics (when compared to the previous production samples) and its dynamics lead me to believe that it is a completely re-designed tube.
You can still get a hold of some good NOS 6DJ8s. I like the RCAs. There is also the mercurial Jan Phillips 6922. Any of these (JJ, Phillips, NOS 6dJ8s) are miles ahead of the Sovteks.
