6L6 tubes in a PrimaLuna Dialogue II Results...

I received my SED 6L6GCs from Upscale Audio, and have been listening to them for several days. My first impression was that I did not like them at all--The highs were VERY subdued. After a couple of days however, they started to come around. They are now sounding quite good. However...

In addition to the KT88s, I have also tried some Chinese EL34s that I purchased from Upscale also. So far, I prefer the 6L6GCs and the EL34s over the KT88s--but I am torn between 6L6GCs and the EL34s. The 6L6GCs are very smooth and easy to listen to. I should also mention that I prefer the 6L6GCs in Ultralinear. My only minor complaint would be that I would like a little more "meat on the bones" that I get with the EL34s. However, the EL34s are a little bright. For low listening levels, I like the EL34s in Ultralinear, and at loud levels I prefer them in Triode--Voices are little to much in the face in Ultralinear.

I could be happy with either tube, but if I want to improve upon the results so far, should I consider different 6L6GCs or different EL34s? The Valve Art 350b seems promising, as well as the SED EL34 and the new Gold Lion KT77. Or is there something else...

Any thoughts??
