I've used SED 6L6GC's in a Prologue One and the Prologue 5. Compared to SED EL34's they have a smoother, i.e. less mid-range emphasis, more linear, less color. Sort of like comparing the SED 6550 v the SED KT88. All of these are excellent tubes. FWIW I believe the GC v G amounts to a small difference in power output (the GC puts out more) but according to Kevin Deal it shouldn't affect the amps operation. BTW, for me, the difference is one of clarity v mid-range 'color', and the choice was determined by the speakers I was using.
