the jolida amps are ultralinear allready, which gets many of the triode improvemnts, that may be why you diddnt hear a improvemnt. I agree though that the components should be replaced, better resistors, caps and vold pots would make a big differnce. Also have heard from some people that replacing the diodes makes a HUGE differnce.....havent tried this myself
