Thank you for your posting. I replied to an e-mail from a moderator who pulled one of my prior postings, and asked what was wrong with it, and haven't yet received a reply. If a poster asks questions similar to the one to which I responded, wherein he asks about power ratings of specific models and characteristics, reliability, etc. what is the appropriate means by which these questions can be answered?
In my first postings, I identifed myself in order to provide full disclosure, so readers would know who I was, etc.
I was told by the moderator who pulled my posting that I should not identify myself in the body of the posting, that I whould place the information in the "i" link, which I have done.
I remember reading in the posting rules that members of the industry are permitted to answer specific questions, which is why I re-stated the question prior to each answer.
It seems that a balance could be achieved whereby the poster's questions are answered without the followup from a vendor being objectionable as self-promotion.
Perhaps someone could provide me with some examples of OK followups from a distributor and some "not OK" examples so I could have some guidelines. I feel that if someone has some questions about one or more of the products that I distribute, he/she should be able to receive an answer.
How do other distributor / vendors respond to these types of questions?
Best regards, rdb :-)
