I have a couple of Tungsol 12AU7s that are microphonic, i.e., if I tap 'em or the preamp chassis, I hear it through the speakers. If I leave 'em alone (and they are pretty well isolated: my chassis is dampened with dampening sheets and sit on vibrapods), they sound okay. Or is it because I have lead ears? Relatedly, do you return your NOSs to the seller when they turn out to be microphonic?
