That's a fascinating tidbit. I will re-examine my "Brimar" tubes this evening to determine if they fit your description of a Mullard. This also probably means that the tubes VTV photo'd and tested were Mullards, not Brimars, though indeed this may be a distinction without a difference. I also have a single Raytheon 6SN7GTA that looks just like my GTBs, with a very similar early 50's date code. I'll compare the two species of Raytheon, as well. But one thing still puzzles me; the GT types, which I assume includes VT231 and WGT as well, ARE supposed to differ from GTAs and GTBs in specs. In particular, the GTA and B have a higher permissible plate voltage and plate dissipation. Thus again, I wonder how identical tubes could end up with WGT vs GTB labeling (unless the W has the same significance as A or B in the nomenclature).
