Hi JoN-

Excellant review ! I to saw Geo' original posting about the Tungsram e80cc & I bit on it. I was using (2) Mullard cv4024 12at7's in the driver stage & (2) RCA 12bh7a's in the input stage of my V.a.C. pa 35/35 triode amp when I subbed the Tungsrams for the RCA's-nice improvement; move powerful/dynamic but not the results I was expecting from the postings I read. Last weekend I took delivery of (2) Amperex 7316 (PQ) 12au7's to replace the Tungsrams-whhoooooo!!! WTS was right these are the bomb ! I just finished my demo of the Shunyata Cobra & King Cobra and after putting the Amperex in it was like they never left (ALMOST). There is much more in the room presence & detail with the 7316's, but I've not a/b'd the two directly-count me in as a huge fan of the Amperex 7316's (PQ)!!! I've got a source for the Amperex
e80cc's so i think i will give those a shot.

Thanks to ALL how have posted on this topic, your input has really helped in pointing me in the right direction(s) to explore-thanks again!

Mike
