...and I couln't find ANYTHING about removing the speaker cables.
I remember reading that you NEVER want to run a tube amp without a load connected for danger of frying your output transformer...I just don't want to see anyone fry their amp. It did say to disconnect the input and the AC power cable but nothing about speakers. I put a link to a scan of the manual below:
