Hi,While I cannot comment on the AMPS themselves, I can say as a DYI'r and Studio owner, I absolutely think Ron is a first rate businessperson.
I had a warranty issue and he resolved it immediately and replaced the defective tubes...I sent him the invoice, the schematic of the amp they were in and proof of purchase and he sent me 2 day the replacement, if I were to own a Welborne, soon maybe, I'd call Ron for a Kit.
By the way, I've built some of the stuff in his catalog with great success and a call to him once to discuss a part value...never a problem.
Cheers. He is to AMPS what Lord Valve and Ned Carlson and Kevin Deal are to tubes...it just does not get better, and If I were you I'd get a email to robert.m.danielak@lmco.com and get him to build you an amp, he is by far the brightest designer out there and his chassis work is to behold...I own several commissioned pieces of his.
