As an owner of a TA-30 for almost 3 years, i may be able to provide some help. I dug quite a bit on AA (and other sites) before I bought it. As far as I could tell (not having both amps side-by-side, mind you) the PrimaLunas use the adaptive auto bias board, and have a slightly different parts spec. I recall reading that the transformers are 'custom' in the PrimaLunas. Some other parts like caps are higher grade. As far as I could gather, the basic design aside from the autobias board is VERY similar. I've had the Cayin open several times to adjust the bias, and I'm always impressed by the parts quality and build quality for an amp that I payed $450 for, used.My Cayin has certainly proven its mettle, keeping up with a slew of upgrades without showing any hints if being a 'limiting factor' in my rig. of course, YMMV...
