Hi,
I have a number of 6084 / E80Fs that are ALL Tall bottle tubes. Valvo, Amperex and a few odd label (Dario, Miniwatt etc...) Mostly philips made tubes from Holland (no matter what the label says)
However, I have just recently started to see these tubes in boxes that appear to have the correct label, and they are SHORT BOTTLE. Since I have been looking around for, and purhasing these tubes for a few years now and have NEVER seen a short bottle version before, I'm wondering if a stash of tubes showed up from somewhere that now has new labels on it? Does anyone know anything about this issue?
I don't want to screw up my equipment. The 6084/E80F's already have a different heater requirement than the EF86/6267's they replace. I have had my schematics examined by a tech who determined that I would be OK in swapping them, (and it has not been a problem in regular use over a few years now) but if these are an even wierder variation, then I would not want to take the chance without being 100% certain what I was getting into.
Any thoughts or experience?
