Interesting...yet another fine example of different tastes and results based on the plethora of systems and different system synergies around hear...My ST70 is also modified to run in triode mode, but I usually run it in ultra-linear as my Trente seem to enjoy that more, no matter which output tubes I'm using. I preferred the SEDs in ultra-linear, but today switched to triode to run the KT-77 I've been using for several months in that mode for a while.
Need a few more days and this pesky flu to be gone before I can determine if it's preferable.
