That tubelife does sound a little premature, but I don't recall Audio Research ever designing circuits around NOS, and going that route would cost 2 arms and 2 legs. Especially the quantity of tubes you need.

Turning the bias down doesn't sound like the right thing to do either.

I know the easy answer is to give Leonard a shout at ARC headquarters, and see what he thinks.

Maybe before you resort to calling him, check out their website and review their info regarding tube life. I enjoyed reviewing it again recently. Could point to some other factors you never even thought of looking into.
