A stupid, but more effective remedy is to stuff a little tinfoil into the sockets. It will make the contacts tighter.
Replace the tube sockets, period. The dealer and mfr will generally give you a load of crap about this voiding the warranty, can't be done because there are too many components soldered together to the pins, etc, etc. I heard it all.
Take it to a tech. Take out the tubes; turn it upside down; open the bottom of the case and look at the bottom of the tube sockets with the tech. In 60 seconds or so, he can size up the build and soldering practices on the sockets (for example, some builders actually give the wire a few turns and solder over that; while some just thread the wire through and solder it) and tell you exactly what he will do.
Pins need cleaning - steel wool.
