Am I being unreasonable?

Here's the situation:
I ordered a matched pair of ECC82 and a matched quad of ECC81 from a gentleman in Europe. I was quoted a specific price for NOS/NIB tubes. The seller mails out the tubes, then informs me (after the tubes are in transit) that one of the ECC81 is rebranded. Hmmmph, but whatever ....

The tubes arrive after a month (sent via registered air mail). Upon inspection, only two tubes are in original boxes; the rest are in white boxes. One of the ECC81 was indeed rebranded, but another ECC81 was an entirely different internal design altogether. They all test well and are closely matched.

I tell the seller I want to ship these tubes back to him for a full refund because they are not as advertised. He agrees, but he does not admit any fault. Instead, he repeatedly suggests I should read his emails. In one of his previous emails, he explains how hard it is to find these tubes with the same logos. Not that this is an excuse to send rebranded tubes without informing the buyer (at least not IMHO), but it also does not say anything about different internal designs nor why only two of eight tubes arrived in NOS/NIB condition. The seller insinuates I'm being unreasonable for "rejecting tubes on cosmetic grounds" "like collecting stamps" and tells me on no less then 4 occasions that it's my fault for not reading his above explanation. In a subsequent email, he suggests he did me a favor by going through boxes to find these tubes to sell me ... as if I was being ungrateful for complaining.

Was I unreasonable?
