Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Now I understand that components that become magnetic when the circuit is live is bad for audio. Can a tube become magnetic during use? The reason for my enquiry is that I use an industrial demagnetiser as part of my business. I thought I'd pass some Seimens 6922 gold pins through it, & the buggers were magnetic. I demagnetised them & popped them back in my amp & had a listen. It may be placebo but I noticed better soundstage & instrument placement. Anyone that has these tubes knows how clear & precise these sound.
A thought that crossed my mind is a magnetised tube more likely to become microphonic?
