The GA has a 19 watt plate dissipation and the GC has a 30-32 watt plate dissipation - they are very different tubes. The GA could have an ST envelope but I'm pretty sure no GCs did - and some GCs have the same envelope as 5881s. But you're right, in general, these take up more space than 5881s (6L6GWB).
