Ampex was sold as individual units? I have NEVER seen an ad for one even though I have some of the early-ish hi-fi mags. Do you have a scan of the ad for the Ampex in your catalog? I'm interested in all things ampex and would love to see that!Also, is your preamp the brown one (as shown on the 402 photofact) or one of the later ones? (first the striped faceplate and the later, final, solid silver faceplate with notched gray knobs)
I have seen small variations on the original preamps (402 style) such as a tape monitor section on the left side of the chassis (as seen from the front), but I have never seen any of these variations with the later models.
BTW....does your catalog show a picture or have any prices for the other Ampex units (amps, tuner, multiplex etc.)?
